Factory Of Terror Wins World Record For Longest Haunted House a Second Time!!
The Factory of Terror is Ohio’s premier haunted attraction and one of Ohio’s best haunted attractions. AND – is now officially (Again) the largest haunted house on the planet, according to Guinness Book of World Records.
The former aluminum foundry turned house-of-horror at 4125 Mahoning Rd. NE in Canton, was measured again on Saturday, August 27th. The owners, John, Rich Jr. and Matt Eslich, were notified by the England-based Guinness organization that the haunted house they created has set a new record as "Longest Walk-Through Horror House" in the world.
The record 3,796 feet is a winding path through terror-filled hallways, mazes, rooms and dilapidated factory chambers.
Since we created The Factory of Terror in 2002, our goal was always to make it the largest and scariest haunted attraction in the world. It seemed like a crazy thing to say at the time, but here we are, entering our 10th season, with a bona fide world record.
We applied with Guinness earlier this year and following a long construction season, finally remeasured and Yes we are the Largest. The attempt was video taped non-stop, as dictated by the stringent Guinness rules. Several witnesses attended, including a professional surveyor, officials from the local fire department, a reporter and photographer from the Canton Repository, the Executive Director of the Canton Visitors Bureau, and a few family friends. All witness-written testimonial accounts were notarized, in compliance with Guinness guidelines.
